This is a short story of why our before school surprise for kids was necessary.
She can't find her shoes. He doesn't like the 15th t-shirt he has tried. She has a tag on her dress that is bothering her and I can't find the scissors to cut it off, so I am debating between using a knife to cut it or just ripping it off with my hands and risking of destroying the dress. On top of this, the baby has just woke up and needs to nurse desperately. My husband can't help me because he just served breakfast on the table, but kids are already late and don't have time to eat it. So he has to rush and pack breakfast to go, so they can eat it in the car.
There is this rush every morning before school, no matter what we do, no matter how early we get up and how prepared we are.
All of this ↑↑↑↑↑ is creating a chaos. We become stressed, annoyed with each other and pretty upset. And that is a recipe for a bad day.

Last week, after kids have left for school, I sat down, took a deep breath, sipped my cup of cold coffee and decided to come up with a better plan for tomorrow.
I thought really well of what helps me to get out of a stressed mode. I realized, that a simple silly joke that my husband makes, always helps me to calm down. So I decided to do the same. I made this ↓↓↓↓ and hanged it on the door.
Now, every morning, right before the kids leave the house, they get to take 1 joke with them. It has been a great transition from a hectic morning of getting ready to calming down for a busy school day. They read the jokes in the car which makes a fun trip to school.
Do you think it's something your kids would love and appreciate? Print it out and surprise them in the morning.

The first morning when they saw their surprise on the door, a BIG and excited smile appeared on their faces. My son can't read yet, so my daughter was reading joke every morning in the car. Also, she would take the little paper with the joke to school and tell the joke to other kids which would break ice in the morning among her friends and bring lots of silly laughter.
