1 delicious dinner, 4 refreshing iced teas, 45 questions and 180 answers later I can assure you that we had one of the best and most uplifting family mealtimes this year.
It was the night we re-imagined the past, invented the future and had a really memorable family time. It was much needed after all the holiday rush.
Follow these easy 3 steps if you crave for a positive, down to earth and overall a fun mealtime with your family.
Jump to:
1. DINNER
Serve dinner, but it certainly doesn't have to be fancy. We had our kids' favorite: rice, meatballs/sausage and salad. (Our second option was breakfast for dinner, which would have been even more fun and adventurous.)
2. ENTERTAINMENT
Ideally, we, as a family, try to have nice conversations during dinner with the kids, by asking how was their day and so on. But then reality hits in and the conversation goes likes this:
Me: - How was your day, Sofia?
Sofia: - Good.
Dad: Did you have fun playing with your friend, Adas?
Adas: - Yes.
Silent.
Me: Finish your dinner, guys.
To change things up during mealtime and get everybody talking I made 45 Family Conversation Starter Cards: beautifully designed and ready to be printed.
The cards were a hit! We actually didn't get up from dinner table for the whole 2 hours. We have never talked this much as a family before at one sitting. It really felt like we detached from the busy world around us for the entire evening.
3. REFRESHMENT
We enjoyed Lipton Iced tea that night, which helped us ''refresh perspective on life'' while answering all these questions. We had Lipton Peach Tea during mealtime and Lipton Green Tea Citrus afterwards.
Lipton ready-to-drink / bottled iced tea made the perfect pairing to a completely re-imagined mealtime experience.
You too can turn your mealtime into a positive, uplifting and maybe even adventurous part of the day with your family by doing these 3 things:
