My short oil story
I have been using essential oils for a while now. Maybe 2-3 years. And yes, I liked them, but I never was really wow-ed by them. They smelled good and that's about it (I was using different, cheaper brands I found at the grocery store). Then I started using Young Living Essential oils. The whole oil game totally changed for me. I stopped using my medicine cabinet, I started using oils in my beauty rituals, I even stopped using commercial perfumes. My kids started sleeping better, I feel like their immune system got stronger (even though we had big flu season) and we got rid of some skin issues my son had. Our house became healthier when we started using homemade cleaners made with oils and we finally dumped all the chemical cleaners out. Oh and my house always smells good and I am in the good mood more then ever (thanks to diffuser and thieves oil at the moment).
Essential Oils Uses For Health
The most important reason why we use essential oils is for health reasons. We are overall a healthy family and we would like to stay that way. Oils has tremendously helped our immune system this flu season.

Essential Oils Uses For Beauty
Lavender essential oil is my favorite when it comes to beauty products. I love that it fits all skin types.
Here are 5 ways to implement lavender essential in your beauty routine:
- add a few drops of lavender essential oil to your mascara. This prolongs the life of your mascara, minimizes eyelash mites and even better - it thickens and lengthens your lashes!
- mix several drops of Lavender oil with a carrier oil (coconut, sesame, olive etc) and use topically on problematic face skin areas. (My sister in law suffers from severe facial skin issues and swears by this).
- Rub lavender oil on dry or chapped skin.
- Rub several drops of lavender oil into the scalp to help eliminate dandruff.
- Make your own mud facial with lavender essential oil. Did you know that lavender oil can stimulate cellular growth and regeneration, as well as tone the skin. It contains antioxidant properties which help in anti-aging skincare products.
I love wearing oils as perfume. They smell like nothing else out there. And every time I get out of the house using my favorite essential oil perfume I get a lot of compliments and questions: Who are you wearing? People can't believe it's not any of those fancy commercial (chemical infused) perfume. I either use Joy essential oil blend or make my own blend.
I made sugar scrub this Christmas and gave to all my friends as a gift. I still have them asking for the recipe.

Essential Oils Uses For Pets
Keep in mind that pets are more sensitive to essential oils than you are so when you apply essential oils to your furry friends remember - less is more. It's better to always dilute essential oils with carrier oils. ( 1 part essential oil to 1 part carrier oil for all animals, but cats. For cats use ratio: 1 part essential oil to 10 parts carrier oil).
